The Maritime HR Forum
- Am I paying my staff enough or too much?
- Do I risk losing staff to the competition?
- Are my bonuses competitive?
- Are my shareholders are getting value for money?
- Am I sure....?
What is it?
The Maritime HR Forum is the most reliable source of shipping-specific compensation and benefits data available to marine employers. With over fifty shipping employer members, the Forum benchmarks salaries, bonuses and benefits for shore staff around the world.
The membership covers all areas of the Maritime industries, including Oil Majors, Shipowners, Shipmanagers, Mining and Commodity groups.
What's involved?
The Maritime HR Forum is a membership association. The Forum collates and analyses data for literally thousands of shipping employees around the world. Its members therefore benefit from what is unquestionably the most comprehensive and accurate shipping compensation and benefits data available anywhere. Survey data is provided to members only. All members receive survey reports and analysis for all countries and regions regardless of their own office locations. Data analysis is carried out in accordance with anti-trust guidelines.
The Maritime HR Forum is run by professionals who understand shipping inside out. We are aware of no other source of maritime compensation and benefits data that comes close to the coverage, specialisation and reliability available from the Maritime HR Forum. Generic surveys or oil & gas surveys from companies like Mercer, Towers Watson or Hays are not specific to jobs in shipping and cannot be compared.
The Forum was set up in 2005 in response to demand from shipping HR professionals for accurate benchmarking data. Its activities are driven by the members and include:
- Major annual survey of global salaries and bonuses
- Annual full membership meeting
- Regional meetings
- Interim research into issues on members’ agendas
- Coordination and collation of members’ requests for information sharing
